The Wyandotte County Workforce Center at 400 State Avenue in downtown KCK has five employers lined up for in-person hiring events between now and the end of September, and a Johnson County police recruiting day and the Women's Employment Network's big October fair at Crown Center round out the season.

Why the Fall Calendar Runs Through KCK

Most of September's confirmed hiring events come from Workforce Partnership, the public workforce board that runs the KANSASWORKS centers for Wyandotte, Johnson and Leavenworth counties. Its Wyandotte County center sits on State Avenue in downtown KCK, just across the Kansas River from the West Bottoms and an easy drive for anyone on the Missouri side. Each event is a single employer with hiring managers in the room, and the posting pattern is the same: walk-ins welcome, on-the-spot interviews possible, and a KANSASWORKS job seeker account recommended before you show up.

Himonisa Power Systems, which does business as HIPOWER Systems, is recruiting for mechanical drafter and assembler positions. This is the one event on the calendar aimed at manufacturing and technical drawing skills, so drafters should bring examples of their work and assemblers should be ready to talk about tools, blueprints and production experience. Johnson County Park Police Hiring Event — Saturday, September 19

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | Shawnee Mission Park, 7900 Renner Road

The only weekend event on the list. The Johnson County Park & Recreation District is recruiting park police officers, and the department says candidates who are ready can complete an interview on site. Officers will be there to answer questions about the hiring process and what the job looks like day to day. Fastenal — Wednesday, September 23

Time to be announced | Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center

The Women's Employment Network's multi-employer fair is the largest event on this list. At its spring fair in May 2026, WEN reported 310 job seekers meeting 35 employers. Employer registration for October is open now on WEN's job fair page, but hours and job seeker registration haven't been posted yet. Confirm before you go: call WEN at (816) 822-8083. WEN also runs résumé, LinkedIn and job search workshops out of its Westport office through September, which is good prep for this fair.
