🔥 Who's Recruiting at Crown Center

WEN posts its October employer list on its KC Job Fair page, and it covers a lot of the metro's payroll in one room.

  • Health care and behavioral health: The University of Kansas Health System, University of Kansas Medical Center, ReDiscover, Behavioral Health Allies, Heartland Center for Behavioral Change, Cornerstones of Care, Life Unlimited, the Center for Developmentally Disabled and John Knox Village.
  • Government and public safety: the City of Kansas City, Missouri, the City of Overland Park, Jackson County, the Kansas City Fire Department, the Missouri Department of Corrections, the Kansas Department for Children and Families and the Kansas Department of Commerce.
  • Banking and finance: Arvest Bank, Enterprise Bank & Trust, NBKC Bank, Mazuma Credit Union and Forrest T. Jones & Company.
  • Schools and training: Kansas City Public Schools, Metropolitan Community College, Earlystart, Educator Academy and i.c. stars.
  • Everyone else: Garmin, Heartland Coca-Cola, Melaleuca, P1 Service, Guadalupe Centers and the Sheraton itself.

The list doesn't name specific openings, and employers keep signing up until the day, so check the page again the week of the fair. WEN's spring fair in May drew 310 job seekers and 35 employers, so expect a full room.

📋 How to Show Up Ready

WEN hasn't posted a separate job seeker sign-up, and the fair is billed as free and open to people looking for work in the Kansas City area. Call WEN at (816) 822-8083 if you want to confirm anything before you go.

  • Bring a stack of printed resumes. With 30-plus tables, ten copies isn't too many.
  • Pick your top five employers ahead of time and look at their current openings, so you can ask about a specific role rather than "anything available."
  • Government tables will likely point you to an online application, so ask which posting fits and when it closes.
  • Get there early. Three hours goes fast in a crowded ballroom, and recruiters are freshest at 1 p.m.

Crown Center sits off Grand Boulevard and Pershing Road, a short walk from Union Station, and the KC Streetcar stops at Crown Center.
